RAIN
Rain - Bass
Sarah Powell started life in the heart of New York. It is only in the last few years that she has began leading a clean life. Up until recently she was known as the most notorious gangster in The Bronx. Just the saying the name 'Sarah Powell' could make a grown man weep like an old woman. She doesn't speak about her past anymore as she feels she is now a new, reformed woman. But she will always be talked about by New York's most violent gangsters. Her methods will forever be used by her own gang; 'Powell's Boys of The Bronx'. Whether she was loved, hated or feared, she will forever be respected by anyone who carries a gun, knife or baseball bat. Her stories are still told among young gangsters who look up to her even though most weren't even born when she owned the streets of New York. One of the most famous is the tale of when one young man came into a bar where Powell and her Boys we're sat drinking and listening to jazz. The young man walked in, took a few shots at the band and turned to face the gang, not knowing that he had just shot the bass guitarist of Sarah's favourite jazz band. She shouted at the rest of the band to carry on playing. The young man realised he had made a huge mistake. Sarah lifted the gun from her table and shot the man as she walked towards the band. She took up the place of the injured band member and played through to the end of the night as the man was beaten to death by her gang and the bassist was cared for and taken to hospital.
Even today, if you go into 'Jack's House of Jazz' there will be a picture of Sarah Powell behind the bar. They still talk of her and wonder if she will ever return to teach one more piece of scum a lesson, to have one more drink, to play one more song.
